I had a WONDERFUL Birthday (even if the age I turned still causes me to go WOW). My family and friends made me feel special and loved – which is my perfect love language. Here are some of the wonderful birthday celebrations that I enjoyed:
- It started with having all of my daughters together in Florida at my parent’s house. Just enjoying time together was a great gift. I treasure watching and hearing my 3 daughters enjoy each other and invest in each’s lives – it is a gift from the Lord to watch their relationship with each other.
- My Mom suggested that we go for tea at the Disney Grand Floridian (read about it here) and it was amazing (thank you Mom!). I loved being with these special women in my life and the tea was spectacular!
- My daughters put together a special prayer book for me – written by people who love me. I still cannot read it without tears running down my face. Thank you to each of you who wrote a prayer for me — I am humbled and honored by your words.
- I was excited to see my husband, Bill after being apart for 8 days – being hugged by him was a sweet, comfortable gift.
- Saturday evening, Bill surprised me by taking me to a dinner theatre at the Das Dutch Village Inn. Ruth was a 2 person play put on by the 34 West Theater Company and it was outstanding! Since I have taught several times on Ruth (and even written my own Bible Study on her), I was thrilled to be there. And then to top off the evening, we stayed at the Inn overnight! It is such a unique Inn where each floor is decorated in a different style — it is simply lovely .
- And to really top that evening off, Bill got me a German Chocolate Cake from the Das Dutch Has Restaurant – my absolute favorite that I enjoy once a year!
- My birthday ended with dinner with a newly engaged couple – my oldest daughter Alycia and Jason got engaged on Wednesday and this was the first I had seen them. (more on this news in a post later this week). How fun to see their excitement and to hear all the details of how Jason surprised her!
- And my wonderful man, got me several special gifts on top of the evening out (he knows my love language). He gave me a new ring – my original diamond set in a new setting (my original setting broke months ago)! I am thrilled and I love it.
What more could this woman desire than these good gifts – to be with those she loves the most, to receive prayers from loved ones all around the world, to receive special gifts from her husband…
I truly am so blessed… on my birthday and in my life!
I am glad God blessed you with such a special birthday!!!!
Makes me want to do more than shoe shopping for my anniversary!! 🙂
Love you!
Sandy you have no idea how wonderful it was to read your “So Blessed on My Birthday”. It makes me so happy to see what a wonderful life and family you have. You will always have a special place in my heart and I think of you often. Years and miles can’t take you out of my heart. – Di
Diane, Thank you for your dear words – life is hard, yet it is my faith and my family that encourage me each and every day! Some days I forget to look for the blessings, but this weekend there were such recognizable blessings that I couldn’t miss my blessings. You made me cry as I remember those fun days of high school and all of our dreams for the future – you too have a very special place in my heart as well. Thank you for sharing.
