Christmas is officially over at our home – the tree and the decorations are put away. I always reach a point after the holidays that I need my home back. My family teases me about how when I reach this point, I am relentless about getting the decorations down now (I admit that I deserve all of their teasing)! The decorations that brought magic into our home, somehow lose that magic afterwards. Now the house is clean, the decorations are stored away and I am feeling good.
I am also delighted with the verse the Lord gave to me for my theme verse for the year 2012. As I have mentioned in the past, I seek a theme verse each year ( you can read prior posts about it here and here) . Once again there were several verses that I pondered, but it was made clear to me that this was the perfect verse.
“LORD, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.” Isaiah 26:13
As I reflected on this past year and looked ahead to the next year, I was reminded that God is the one who does all things for us. I use to think that I was capable and able to do many things, but as I attempted to do things, God has made it very clear to me that He is the one who does it all.
Every year brings much to be accomplished and 2012 will be no different. Looking ahead there will be much to be accomplished in my life as well as our family’s lives including…
- An upcoming wedding on June 23rd of my youngest daughter
- Moving our middle daughter and grandson to be reunited with our son-in-law as he returns from being deployed, then moving them again as they receive new orders
- Moving the newlywed’s stuff to their new apartment
- Lots of Blessings Unlimited work to be done, products to be shared, events to be planned and new team members to be added and trained
- Continuing to grow together as a couple after everyone moves out again and we become empty nesters (again)
- Learning more and more about the God who calls us to live for Him.
As the above items, and things unanticipated, will be accomplished by the Lord – His presence with us as we journey through the next 12 months will be needed each moments of every day.

Last year I wrote a blog post titled A New Scripture Verse for A New Year and it has been a very popular blog the last couple of days. I guess many people must be looking for a theme scripture verse for the new year. Here is the follow-up to this post…
Over the years, I have signed my correspondence with scripture verses. Typically I seek verses that will help me claim the Lord’s promises for my current life situation. This year I spent time pondering different verse that God has used in my life, here are several that I studied…
“Lord, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.” Isaiah 26:12
“This is what the Lord says, He who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is His name: ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3
“Here I am send me.” Isaiah 6:8
“I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;” Isaiah 49:16-17
This year, my desire is to remember how God directs my life. As I sought for a verse this year, I came back again and again to the verse the Lord gave to me for my Blessings Unlimited Team of women.
“This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.” Isaiah 48:16
I believe that God gave His absolute BEST for us when He gave His only Son for our sins and in response I want to give my best to Him in all area of my life. God’s promise to show me the way He wants me to go in Isaiah 48:16 has been proven over and over again in my life. I can look back and see God’s faithfulness through all of my life’s experiences (the good and the difficult) My prayer for 2011 and all of my life is to present my life, plans and callings to my God knowing that He will direct me in the way I should go.
