Last year I wrote a blog post titled A New Scripture Verse for A New Year and it has been a very popular blog the last couple of days. I guess many people must be looking for a theme scripture verse for the new year. Here is the follow-up to this post…
Over the years, I have signed my correspondence with scripture verses. Typically I seek verses that will help me claim the Lord’s promises for my current life situation. This year I spent time pondering different verse that God has used in my life, here are several that I studied…
This year, my desire is to remember how God directs my life. As I sought for a verse this year, I came back again and again to the verse the Lord gave to me for my Blessings Unlimited Team of women.
“This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.” Isaiah 48:16
I believe that God gave His absolute BEST for us when He gave His only Son for our sins and in response I want to give my best to Him in all area of my life. God’s promise to show me the way He wants me to go in Isaiah 48:16 has been proven over and over again in my life. I can look back and see God’s faithfulness through all of my life’s experiences (the good and the difficult) My prayer for 2011 and all of my life is to present my life, plans and callings to my God knowing that He will direct me in the way I should go.
Do you have a verse for 2011 – I would love to know what it is. Please share the verse and what it will remind you of. If you do not yet have a verse or are unsure of how to seek a verse — go to www.biblegateway.com and search for words that are on your heart. Read through the suggestions and pick the one that claims God’s promises for your current life situation and then share the verse. I am excited to see the verses God will lead you to.

Hi Sandra
This is a big year for my family, so I have TWO verses. lol
First:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Philippians 4:6
After 25 years, my hubby is retiring from the military in June. To say I am anxious, worried, stressed, and nervous does not cover it.
I *know* that everything will be okay, we will be fine. I do, I know that. I *know* that God has it all taken care of, He has it all planned out. I know He’s looking at me and saying… “Girrrrl…. I *got* this.” *snort* But I’m still feeling very unsettled about all of it. My little, human brain is having a hard time remaining calm.
My other verse is:
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Matthew 6:34
