I was asked if I was going to continue Tuesday 10, so here is another 10 items for Tuesday…
10 Things I Love About Being a MOPS Mentor
-
I love knowing that the Lord has called me to this ministry to Moms & Families.
-
I love reminding Moms how important the work they are doing is. I remember how I felt as a mother of preschoolers and how I would have benefitted from an older woman (that is me, I guess) who would just loved me and supported me as a Mom.
-
I love to hold the new babies that come to MOPS – that is great fun! (and yes, I have been spit up on and even that is okay)
-
I love to hear the little ones who are not quite ready for the MOPPETS program. They cry, squeal and coo while I am giving devotions. It makes me think of Psalm 8:2 “From the lips of children and infants You have ordained praise”... they are just praising God and nothing that I have to say is more important than that.
-
Our MOPS Hospitiality makes the food and decorations really special which I enjoy – but most of all, I love eating at MOPS and not at home before I hurry out the door.
-
I love seeing the relationships that have developed over the years. There is a Bible Study in our church that started 6 years ago as a MOPS Bible Study. There are various friendships that continue to grow outside of MOPS. There is a group of Moms whose kids are now in elementary school now, who still encourage each other – I love this!!
-
I love that all Moms deal with the same issues each year, parenting, marriage relationships and always potty training
. -
I love working closely with the steering leadership. I always get attached to each group; each group is made up of special women.
-
I love listening and praying with Moms who are dealing with some really tough issues – financial, relationships, self-image, tough parenting issues and more. Encouraging Moms to have faith in the God of the impossible is always a great reminder to me as well. “For nothing is impossible for God.” Luke 1:37
-
I love having the opportunity to share my relationship with Christ to MOPS Moms. To see Moms come to know the Lord as their personally Savior or to have their faith grow is a tremendous blessing in my life.
If you haven’t already, please check out our MOPS Blog at http://www.cefcmops.blogspot.com/. And if you are in the area – our MOPS groups starts on Wednesday at 9:15 at Chippewa Evangelical Free Church. I would love to see you there…
