(all photos by April – thank you)
Bill and I once again enjoyed hosting our MOPS Group 3rd annual Picnic/Carnival in our backyard on Saturday. We had about 80 Moms, Dads and children of all ages (many, many preschoolers though). It was a beautiful day that included… eating.
The good old bean bag toss board, which my husband claims is done for every year, and yet it comes back to life every year
.

Face Painting is always fun and is loved by young children of all ages. I even saw some Moms with their own paint smears from children who wanted to be held. (My wonderful neighbor did the face painting again this year — she is the best neighbor ever).
And the favorite of the day – Rock Painting. Thanks to Brenda (our former hospitality co-leader and now our creativity leader) for this idea. Our MOPS funds were a little tight this year and she suggested that we get rocks and have the kids paint them. It was the absolute hit of the day.
There was also Fruit Loop necklace making, Foam Stickies Art, Ice Cream Sundae Making and Balloon Popping. Toward the end of the day, the older kids got a kick ball game going and the younger kids were still rock painting. It was such a joy to see the children so happy with simply carnival treats. It just goes to show that kids do not always need the fancy toys and games — rock painting, an old bean bag toss and Fruit Loop necklaces still delight children of all ages.
Thanks to our hardworking MOPS Steering Team for working together to make this event happen. There are more photos posted on our MOPS Group Blog http://cefcmops.blogspot.com/

Thanks for having us! We had a great time. Reagan especially enjoyed eating her fruit loop necklace!
This looks like and sounds like it was so much fun — I wish I could have jumped across 1,000 miles of highway and joined you!
