Mothering is the hardest job you will ever do. It never ends when you have small children (and even with older children, you are still called for Mom advice, hugs and love). It seems like the jobs you do never stay done (think laundry, cooking and disciplining). You often wonder if the daily work of diapers, discpline and fatigue are appreciated or even noticed. Yet, the most important job of mothering is to keep in mind that you are laying up treasures in heaven. The relationships you build with your children (and others) are all you can take with you to Heaven.
Motherhood is a high calling with many low jobs. I appreciate the way April is approaching her mothering journey with honesty and an understanding of her treasures. May you be encouraged today to lay up your treasures in Heaven … take notice of the small things and enjoy!
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Matthew 6:19-21

aw, thanks!
Thanks for the reminder of storing up treasures in heaven!
Love, Stephanie
